It is believed that pets are the Swedes "insured" in the world. In Scandinavian countries, eight out of every ten dogs are insured by their masters.

In countries such as Norway, Finland and the United Kingdom are insured two dogs out of ten.

Last year, the Swedes paid almost 2.5 billion euros (about 300 million) of insurance premiums for their pets, which is twice more than 10 years ago.

Vet insurance company Agria Lena Bjurstrøm argues that one reason for the Swedes their pet insurance is advanced, but expensive veterinary services in the country.

"In large veterinary clinics have magnetic camera, you can make an animal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography. We, for example, can replace hip joints dogs, and if she went blind because of cataracts, we can replace her lens "- it lists the advantages of the Swedish Veterinary Service.

Costs of veterinarians in Sweden grow, and with it the life expectancy of pets. Herein lies the main reason for the increasing number of Swedes conclusions of contracts with insurance companies, according to Radio Sweden.
