The 75 % tax to the big incomes extends only on separate citizens of France, has explained the Constitutional council of the country

The constitutional council of France recognized as illegal entering of the 75 percent tax to the income over one million euro a year. The offer of the president of the country of Francois Hollande to impose such tax has led to "outcome" from France well-to-do persons among whom there was actor Gerard Depardieu.



As it is told in the council explanatory, illegality of the raised tax consists that it will extend only on separate citizens of France, instead of all population of the country.

As noted by the Constitutional Council of France, the tax «doesn't correspond to uniform distribution of public burden» as concerns only about one and a half thousand thousand inhabitants of the country.

After decision of the Constitutional Council the French government intends to present «the tax for rich men» in a new wording. The Prime minister of France Jean-Mark Ejro has issued the communique, having reported that «the government will prepare the new document taking into account the decision of the Constitutional council». The Head of the government has noticed that the resolution of the Constitutional council won't affect in any way efforts of the government on central government budget deficit reducing.

In turn, the Minister of Economic Affairs of France Pierre Moskovichi has declared that «the government doesn't refuse a principle of entering of the tax in 75 %. The new initiative will be presented in 2013 and will act concerning the incomes received in 2013 and 2014.


The 75 % tax to well-founded citizens has been offered by president François Ollandom, the leader of the French socialists. The president intended to enter it for two years. The purpose of entering of the tax had been declared replenishment a profitable part of the government budget, is considerable injured with global financial crisis.

Jean-Mark Ejro named Depardieu's decision pity and not patriotic. The actor has answered the prime minister with the letter in which declared concept "patriotism" become outdated. He has written that considers itself as the citizen of the world, instead of France, and won't allow to offend itself.


It was reported that besides Belgium Depardieu considered Russia as the country for habitual residence. He has declared that has already received from president Vladimir Putin the Russian passport, however the Press Secretary of the head of the state Dmitry Peskov named these words a joke while Putin has declared that the actor can become the citizen of Russia if will want.

Later readiness to accept Depare was expressed by the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov.
