In desert Sahara have found out a Martian meteorite, age 2,1 млрд years


The group of scientists of University of New Mexico declared detection of a Martian meteorite in the desert Sahara which age exceeds 2,1 млрд years.


Such conclusions have been made on the basis of analyses of the meteorite named NWA 7034 conducted within year. The stone in weight in 320 grams has been found by bedouins in territory of Morocco then has been sold to the American center of science, "ITAR-TASS" reports


According to the head of research Charles Ejdzhi, «special breed which, possibly, was formed as a result of a volcanic eruption and its interaction with water» is found out. «Availability of water in breed is indisputable that the given sample distinguishes from set of others», – quotes the scientist magazine «Scientific express train».

The meteorite on the railroad train, is underlined by researchers, is similar to the samples of soil extracted by a mars rover of "Kjuriositi" on a surface of the Red planet. The age of a stone does by its second oldest sample. The most ancient meteorite "Alan Hillz" has been found out in Antarctica in 1984, its age constitutes 4,5 billion years.
